Two water plants in Inverness Co. are out of water

Water and wastewater plants in Inverness County are running out of water

Reps with the Municipality of the County of Inverness say extended power outages have stopped water facilities in from treating water.

They say there’s no longer water to service systems in Mabou and Whycocomagh.

Reps are asking for everyone on a water system in Inverness County to conserve water.

They’re asking residents to avoid using water for anything in their homes including flushing toilets, washing, or brushing teeth.

Port Hawkesbury CAO Terry Doyle tells The Hawk their water and wastewater facilities are operating off generator power but says the town hasn’t put any special water conservation measures in effect yet.
