U.S. man charged for not self-isolating

Police in Pictou Co. have charged a U.S. man for violating the province’s self-isolation rules.

They say a concerned citizen reported the man, 23, to them; they consulted public health officials, and determined he wasn’t self-isolating for the required 14-day period.

New Glasgow Regional Police say officers charged him in a business parking lot on Westville Rd. at roughly 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.

They say the man, who is originally from Pictou Co. but is living in California, received a $1,000 fine.
