Victim in Inverness Co. suspicious death identified

A woman who died in what RCMP say is a suspicious death in Inverness Co. has been identified.

Police say officers responded to a call of a suspicious death at a home on Hwy. 105 in the Waycobah First Nation Oct. 24.

They say a 22-year-old woman from Waycobah was found unresponsive.

RCMP say two infant children were in the home at the time, but were not harmed; they’re being cared for by family members.

They say they don’t believe the death was a random act.

The victim has been identified as Cassidy Jean Bernard; she’ll be laid to rest Saturday.
