A local warden says he optimistic about fixes coming for phone service in Inverness Co.
After May’s regular council meeting Thursday, Laurie Cranton, the warden of Inverness Co., says since their last letter, they have met with Bell Aliant reps who have committed to addressing their concerns.
Cranton told The Hawk that includes fixing problems with both cell and landline service.
“They’re working on those systems now, they’ve corrected a number of problems, and they’re continuing to look at the situation.”
Cranton said chief among their concerns is lost phone service during power outages.
He said that shouldn’t happen anymore.
“It should work, and they say that they have gone over the whole county,” he said. “They seem to be taking it quite seriously now.”
Cranton said he’s cautiously optimistic, he’ll only be satisfied once everything has been working for a while.
