Water issue resolved but flushing to continue in Canso, Hazel Hill

Residents in Canso and Hazel Hill are being told the latest water system problem has been fixed, but they may still notice changes in pressure over the next few days.

In an update Saturday at 7 p.m., the Municipality of the District of Guysborough said the Canso/Hazel Hill Water Utility issue has been resolved and water conservation is no longer required.

The municipality said hydrant flushing will continue for several days, which could lead to low pressure and discoloured water.

The update follows a notice issued Saturday morning, when the municipality reported a new water main break and asked residents to conserve water immediately.

At the time, the municipality said the break was causing low pressure and discoloured water while crews worked on repairs.

The municipality thanked residents for their cooperation and patience as crews addressed the issue and said further updates will be shared if needed.
