It’s election day in a local First Nations community.
Polls in We’koma’q opened at 9 a.m.; band members can cast ballots until 8 p.m.
Four candidates are running for chief- Rod Googoo, the incumbent, Annie Bernard-Daisley, a current band councillor, Phillip Bernard and Merle Julian.
There are 40 candidates for 10 council positions, including all the incumbent councillors.
