A Louisdale woman was arrested following a theft at a business in Port Hawkesbury, assaulting an employee with a shopping cart on the way out, and now RCMP is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
It happened on Sunday just before 5 p.m. at the Causeway Shopping Centre on Reeves Street.
Officers say they responded to a report of a woman who had attempted to leave the store with items she had not paid for and was stopped by a staff member who was then knocked to the ground with a shopping cart.
The employee was left with minor injuries, and the woman took off.
Officers say she was later arrested along Highway 4 and will face theft and assault-related charges.
The 31-year-old was released and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court at a later date. The investigation is ongoing.
