The StFX men’s hockey team plays their final home game of the 2018-19 AUS regular season when they host the Saint Mary’s Huskies.
The X-Men (14-9-3), winners of three straight, are third in the seven-team conference with 31 points, six points back of the Huskies (18-7-1) for second, and a point ahead of fourth-place Moncton.
It’s the fifth and final regular season game between the teams; Saint Mary’s has won three of the first four.
Brad Peddle, StFX’s head coach, tells The Hawk it’s a tight game every time.
“We’ve played them four times- all four games have been one-goal (games), two of them have been overtime or shootouts,” he says. “(We’re) two pretty tight teams, but with this team, we’ve just got to find a way to win that close one.”
Puck drop at the Keating Centre in Antigonish is 7 p.m.
It’s the first of back-to-back games for the X-Men, who travel to Wolfville to take on Acadia Saturday night.
