X-Men try to stay alive against Huskies

The StFX men’s hockey team will try to avoid elimination from the AUS playoffs once again.

The X-Men host the Saint Mary’s Huskies in game four of their conference semi-final.

Saint Mary’s won the first two games in the best-of-five series in Halifax; StFX stayed alive with a win on home ice in game three in Antigonish Monday night.

Brad Peddle, the X-Men’s head coach, tells The Hawk his team turned their play around in game two, and kept it going in game three.

“We continued to play the same game, and were real physical and ended up creating some turnovers and some offensive zone pressure and possession that we needed,” he says. “I think that was the biggest change.”

Puck drop at the Keating Centre is 7 p.m.

If the X-Men win, the series returns to Halifax for a fifth and deciding game Friday night; a loss means their season is over.
