Young man airlifted after Inverness Co. crash

A car crash has sent one person to the hospital by air ambulance.

RCMP say they responded to the single-vehicle collision on Highway 19 in Glenville at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday.

EHS and the Inverness Volunteer Fire Department also attended the scene.

Police say the 21-year-old Port Hood man drove over an embankment and rolled the vehicle multiple times but the SUV rested upright on its wheels.

The driver was alone at the time of the crash and had to be extracted from the vehicle.

EHS LifeFlight was called and the man was transferred to Halifax.

The man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
