Town of Antigonish exploring solutions to help the homeless

The issue of homelessness and precarious living arrangements in the Town of Antigonish was brought up at the last regular meeting of council.

Mayor Laurie Boucher says bad weather events are often a tough time for people in these situations and they aim to fix this problem.

The town will be working with community and non-profit organizations to try to come up with solutions to provide a home for those in need. Some groups have already shown interest in working with the Municipality.

They are also going to work to ensure the town can provide overnight warming stations.

The goal is to have a concreate plan completed by this fall.
