Former Nova Scotia teacher charged with sexually assaulting student

A former Nova Scotia teacher has been charged with sexual offences.

Police say the 39-year-old from Amherst is facing several charges in relation to sexual assaulting one of his former students at the Oxford Regional Educational Centre between 2011 and 2014.

The survivor was a youth at the time.

Charges include:

Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation and Invitation to Sexual Touching.

RCMP are asking for any other survivors to come forward.

The suspect has been released on conditions and will appear in court September 25.
