Cabot Highlanders name new head coach

The Cabot Highlanders Minor Midget AAA hockey team have a new head coach.

23-year-old Jesse MacLean from Whycocomagh served as an assistant coach with the Cape Breton West Midget AA Islanders who won provincials this season.

MacLean also helped with the Dalbrae Dragons high school hockey team.

He served as the Dragons head coach from 2016 until 2018 and he was also an assistant coach with the Strait Pirates.

MacLean coached Dalbrae to a 2018 provincial silver medal.

He replaces Donnie Grant who stepped down earlier this month.

MacLean says he is excited to be offered the position and he can’t wait to get started with the Highlanders.
