Two Antigonish women killed in Hwy 104 crash

Pictou Co. District RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday in Barney’s River Station.

Police say they responded to a 911 call about a collision on Hwy. 104.

RCMP say a preliminary investigation indicates a westbound transport truck veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a Pontiac G6.

They say a 51-year-old female and a 74-year-old female were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say a collision analyst attended the scene and Hwy. 104 remains closed.

A detour is setup on Hwy 4.
