Debra Boudreau

Debra Marie (Ryter) Boudreau – age 67 of Miramichi, NB and formerly of Dartmouth, NS passed away peacefully in Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 18, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Born in 1958 in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (DeRabbie) Ryter. Debra loved children and had a long career as an Early Childhood Educator in Porters Lake where she nurtured young people. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed watching the children reach their milestones. Debra was a longtime supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax and volunteered as a Big Sister for a number of years in Dartmouth. She loved her nieces and nephews and was always interested in their activities as they grew.

Debra is survived by her sister Alice (Jim), Ajax; brothers James, Dartmouth; Brian, Dartmouth; William (Cecil), Summerville Centre; Kevin, Dartmouth; Dale (Alanna), Lower Sackville, and sister-in-law Barbara, Bedford. Nieces and nephews Stephanie (Jeff); Stacey (Jeremy); Ashley, Justin, Jordan (Meredith); Aidan, Sara, Lauren, Shauna (Ryan), Matthew (Amber); great nieces Darian, and Ivy; great nephews Finn and Knox. Ron’s children Chelsea (Matt) and Adam (Vanessa). Besides her parents, Debra was predeceased by her first husband, Dennis Boudreau; brother, Stephen; and partner Ron Poirier.

The family would like to thank the medical team in the ICU of Miramichi Regional Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Debra during her time there. A special thank you to her best friend Sharon (LeBlanc) and John Rowan. Your friendship was a sisterly bond of love and unwavering support that lasted a lifetime.

There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2 from St. James Anglican Church, Halfway Cove, Guys Co, with Rev Leif Vaag, officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in St. James Community Hall. Memorial donations in Debra’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
