Daniel Jorden MacDougall

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel “Jorden” MacDougall on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Born in Antigonish NS, December 2, 1992, he is the eldest son of John Daniel and Hughina Christine (MacLeod) MacDougall and brother to Brayden Joseph (Claudia) MacDougall.

Jorden loved being part of a team throughout his life. In his younger years he played many sports. In 2014 he joined the Armed Forces and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, due to an injury he had to come out and explore other opportunities. Which lead him to NSCC where he studied Marine Engineering and he continued to work toward his pilot certificate with Cactus Ship Repair Inc. Jorden enjoyed volunteer work which brought him to join The Port Hawkesbury Volunteer Fire Department and The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, which he was extremely proud to be a member.

Jorden is survived by his parents; brother; girlfriend, Kathleen Dooley (Sydney Mines) and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Donald Bernard and Katherine Florence (MacDonnell) MacDougall; his maternal grandparents, Hugh A and Mary Agnes (MacLellan) Macleod; his aunt and god mother, Charlene Marie (MacLeod) Edwards; his uncle, Angus Mark MacLeod, his uncle, Joseph MacLeod and aunt, Ronalda MacLeod (both in infancy).

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26th in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will take place Monday, April 27th at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Fr. Joby Augustin officiating. Burial to follow in Kempt Road Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Jorden may be made to the Port Hawkesbury Volunteer Fire Department and The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43.
