Annie Mae MacInnis

The death of Annie Mae (King) MacInnis 104 of Port Hawkesbury occurred at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on July 21, 2026.  Annie Mae was born in Glace Bay February 1, 1922 to parents William and Sarah Belle (Antle) King.  She was raised in Louisbourg before moving to Brantford, Ontario where she lived with her husband William ‘Billy’ MacInnis of Louisbourg. 

She was predeceased by husband Billy, an infant son Daniel William, siblings Pearl (Bill), Edward, Samuel (Mary), Ananias (Millie), Lloyd (Frances), Michael, Leonard (Myrtle) and Cyneth. She is survived by nieces and nephews including Michael (Bill) King in Toronto with whom she had a close bond as well as Brenda (Bob) MacEachern of Port Hastings.

Annie Mae had wonderful friends in Brantford and spoke of them often.  She was a kind and loving lady who was always happy to see her family once she moved back to Cape Breton in 2004.

A graveside service will take place at a later date in Willow Grove Cemetery in Louisbourg. 

The family extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home who always made Annie Mae feel special.
