Nurses at two hospitals in the Quad Counties have been told their summer vacation requests are on hold for the time being.
In a letter, officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority say they are unable to approve any summer vacation requests for nurses at Guysborough Memorial Hospital and Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso due to current nursing staffing challenges.
They say they’ll continue to work on the requests and notify individual nurses if and when they can approve their vacation time as soon as they’re able.
The memo has been widely circulated on social media since it was issued Friday.
