Suspect in Cheticamp fire expected in court in February

A man facing an arson charge following a fire in Inverness Co. has had his case adjourned.

Blaze Anthony Basker, 46, who is also charged with failure to comply with conditions, was scheduled for election-and-plea in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until Feb. 22.

Police say officers responded to a boat on fire at a Cheticamp business in December.

They say they investigated, and determined the fire was deliberately set.

No one was hurt.
