AAHS on the receiving end of $350,000

The Antigonish Affordable Housing Society is getting $350,000 from the province.

A release from the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing says the spending is for seven units on land contributed by Antigonish Co.

Officials say both Antigonish town and county each contributed $20,000 a year for five years toward the project, and the Antigonish Community Energy Co-operative put in $15,000.

They say the spending is part of $5.7 million from the provincial government to create 109 affordable housing units around the province.
