Community led doctor recruitment in the Quad Counties is getting a boost from the province.

The provincial government is giving $10,000 to the Town of Port Hawkesbury to support a new program which connects community volunteers with new doctors.

The Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation is receiving $10,000 to create a promotional team and build an online portal for newcomers to learn about activities going on in the area.

The Guysborough Memorial Hospital Foundation will get $9400 to form a “Welcome Home” committee and a create a promotional video to introduce the community to prospective doctors.
