Antigonish Co. officials closely watching federal election

Municipal officials in Antigonish Co. say they’ll be keeping an eye on the federal election campaign.

Voters across the country cast ballots October 21.

Warden Owen McCarron says they’ll be listening to what the party leaders and local candidates have to offer.

“Infrastructure is a big part of what helps build our municipality and our community, and we encourage the candidates to keep that in mind and the value it brings to rural municipalities,” he says. “We’re going to keep an eye on some of the promises as the days and weeks go by, and see which candidate offers something that gives the residents of Antigonish Co. the best bang for their buck.”

McCarron says they’re interested to hear what’s promised during the campaign.
