The Canso Canal has closed to marine traffic for the winter.
The canal closed due to ice buildup in the Northumberland Strait at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
That means you won’t have to worry about traffic delays because of marine traffic at the Canso Causeway until the canal re-opens in April.
