Two teens charged in relation to a hold-and-secure at a local school have made their first court appearances in the case.
RCMP say officers were called to Dr. J.H. Gillis Regional High in Antigonish in November.
They say one person suffered minor injuries when they were assaulted by two others.
A 17-year-old and 14-year-old each face one count of assault; the 17-year-old also faces a breach charge.
The boys, who were released on conditions to have no contact with the victim, had an arraignment hearing in Antigonish Youth Court Wednesday; they’re scheduled to return to court for election-and-plea Feb. 26.
In a letter, school officials told parents and guardians a hold-and-secure was in place for roughly 15 minutes during the altercation.
