One of two people from Alberta charged in relation to a chase that started in Antigonish Co. and ended with four police vehicles damaged in Pictou Co. has had her case adjourned.
RCMP say officers cuffed two people and put them in the back of an unmarked cruiser in relation to a stolen property investigation in Purl Brook in December.
They say the pair fled in the vehicle, eventually crossing the median into oncoming traffic on Hwy. 104.
Police say officers used their vehicles to force the unmarked cruiser into the median; there were no injuries.
Julia King, 22, from Grand Prairie faces five charges in relation to those incidents- theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, flight from police, escapes lawful custody and possession of property obtained by crime- as well as dangerous operation and flight counts from another incident two days earlier.
King, who has been in custody since her arrest and was denied bail in January, was scheduled for election-and-plea in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until Feb. 19.
Tyler Hodgson, 22, who is also from Grand Prairie, pleaded guilty to six charges in the case- theft of police car, operation of a conveyance dangerous to the public, failure to stop the motor vehicle, mischief, possession of a weapon and a breach- in January.
Hodgson was sentenced to eight months in custody, 24 months of probation, a three-year driving ban, and a 10-year weapons ban.
