Charge dismissed against man arrested in Judique fight

A suspect arrested following a fight in Inverness Co. has had his charge dismissed.

RCMP say they were called to the store in Judique one Saturday morning in April.

They say one man punched another in the face; one person was injured.

Daniel Jerome Gillis, 62, of Judique originally faced a count of assault causing bodily harm; his case opened in June.

Gillis, who entered a not guilty plea in July, was scheduled to stand trial in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Thursday; instead, he entered into a peace bond, and his charge was dismissed.
