CLC construction wrapping up

The warden of the Municipality of the District of Guysborough says the finishing touches are being put on their new recreation facility.

Work started on the Chedabucto Lifestyle Complex, an $8,900,000 project, last May.

It includes an outdoor rink, a figure-eight skating loop, an artificial turf field and four-lane running track and a new community recreation centre.

After Wednesday’s regular municipal council meeting, Vernon Pitts, the district’s warden, told The Hawk it’s close to completion.

“They’re just doing a final few minor touches- they’re actually putting the coating on the running/walking track,” he said. “It’s quite a sight.”

Pitts said it remains on schedule for a soft opening later in May and a grand opening in June.
