First two-term Liberal MP in Central Nova says he’s excited to get back to work

The second ever Liberal MP in Central Nova says, this election proves it’s not a safe conservative seat anymore.

MP Sean Fraser was re-elected for a second term Monday.

Fraser tells The Hawk he and his team operated like they were 100 votes behind the whole campaign, and it paid off.

“There’s never been someone who’s not a Conservative be re-elected back-to-back in this riding,” he says. “It demonstrates to me that people have an open mind and are willing to listen to the plans the parties are pitching, as long as it serves the interests of the people who live here.”

Fraser says he’s looking forward to continuing his work, especially on the Sutherlands River-Antigonish highway twinning project and remediation of Boat Harbour.

He says he’s also looking at issues he’s heard on the doorstep; healthcare, the environment, and making an economy that works for everybody.
