Health officials open COVID-19 assessment centre in Antigonish

A COVID-19 assessment centre has opened in the Quad Counties.

Officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority say the centre at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish opened Wednesday.

They initially announced eight sites; all were outside the Quad Counties, with the two closest in New Glasgow and Sydney.

Health officials say you shouldn’t go to an assessment centre without calling 811 for a referral first.
