Principal says new residence coming along well, despite delays

The NSCC Strait Area Campus’ principal says, despite a few delays, construction on their new residence is coming along well.

Tom Gunn says they’re now expecting the construction to be completed by November or December, four- to six-weeks behind schedule.

Gunn tells The Hawk they don’t yet know if they’ll open for the 2021 winter semester, or delay to fall 2021.

“We’re not sure, we really need to, once the building is turned over to us then we need to, get it up and running,” he says. “We’re not quite sure yet when we’ll open it.”

Gunn says the delays have been general construction and supply related, the weather hasn’t been an issue.

He says, despite the delays, the project remains on budget.
