A major power outage is affecting more than 10,600 homes and businesses in parts of Inverness and Victoria counties.
The outage stretches up Rte. 19 starting in Port Hood, through Mabou and Inverness, as far north as Cheticamp and Petit Etang; it also includes Whycocomagh, River Denys, Blues Mills, and Baddeck.
Nova Scotia Power‘s website indicates service, which was disrupted due to damage to transmission equipment just before 5 a.m., should be restored by 10 a.m. Wednesday.
