Inquiry hears details of Operational Stress Injury Clinic

The 15th day of the Desmond Fatality Inquiry in Port Hawkesbury detailed our province’s Operational Stress Injury Clinic.

The OSIC had just opened when Lionel Desmond returned to our province from New Brunswick, but Desmond was never treated there.

The two co-managers of the clinic gave evidence Thursday. First was the clinical director, Dr. Abraham Rudnick, the second was the provincial manager, Patrick Daigle.

They both spoke about the need for better information gathering and sharing when it comes to medical records.

Neither says he met or treated Desmond. They didn’t take their roles until over a year after Desmond killed his wife, mother, daughter, and then himself in their Upper Big Tracadie home in 2017.
