Inverness County Community Wins Lieutenant Governors Community Spirit Award

The community of Judique in Inverness County has won a Lieutenant Governors Community Spirit Award. This is in recognition of civic engagement and vibrant initiatives that celebrate diversity, culture, and heritage of community members.

Minister Of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage Pat Dunn would like to congratulate the citizens and volunteers for working to make the community better and more inclusive. She says Nova Scotia is an amazing place to raise a family, build a career and put down roots and its because of our strong communities and volunteers.

Lt. Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc says, “I am consistently impressed by the determination and heart that exists in communities across the province, Nova Scotians demonstrate their amazing spirit and resourcefulness by improving the lives of those around them and advocating for positive change in their regions.”

The Community Spirt Award Program was established back in 2007 and 48 communities’ have won the award since 2008. Community based award ceremonies for this year’s recipients will be held at a later date.

Weymouth Falls in Digby County was the other community to win the 2022 award.
