Ecology Action Centre Holds Pop Up Bike Clinics on Cape Breton Island

The Ecology Action Centre held pop up bike clinics on Cape Breton this month.

The purpose of the clinics is to teach people how to make basic bike repairs and for them to learn bike safety tips.

The clinic visited Eskasoni last weekend and the turnout was good. They worked on 67 bicycles in the community.

The organization worked on approximately 140 bikes during their visit to Cape Breton and they visited the Islands five Mi’kmaw communities over the course of two weeks. They will be returning to the mainland to offer these clinics in other rural and Mi’kmaw communities.

This was the second year the organization held clinics on Cape Breton.

The Ecology Action Centre is a Nova Scotia based non profit environmental organization.
