The Liberal MP for Cape Breton-Canso is the new chair of the party’s Atlantic caucus.
Mike Kelloway’s role starts when the House of Commons sits again after Easter.
Kelloway was elected to lead the 26-member Liberal Atlantic caucus by his colleagues.
He says he’ll have a dedicated speaking role in the party’s weekly national caucus.
Kelloway, who was first elected to Parliament in 2019, says he’ll present key matters and concerns of the four Atlantic provinces to the prime minister and federal cabinet ministers.
