Local sports preview (Monday)

There are a pair of games on the local sports schedule for the holiday Monday.

The Halifax Mooseheads visit the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Mooseheads have won the first four games in the eight-game season series between the Maritimes Division opponents, including a 10-2 win against the Sea Dogs in Halifax Tuesday night.

Game time is 2 p.m.

 

Playoffs get underway in the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League.

The fourth place Dalbrae Dragons take on first place Richmond Hurricanes.

That game is at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood.

Puck drop is 7:30.

 

Inverness’ Kenzie MacPhail and Team Nova Scotia play their third and final preliminary round game in men’s hockey at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.

Nova Scotia, who lost against Quebec Sunday, takes on Team New Brunswick in Group A action at 3:30 p.m.

The qualification round gets underway Tuesday.
