The Port Hawkesbury Antigonish Swim Team, PHAST members participated in the Nova Scotia AA Championships at Acadia University.
First place finishes included…Matthew Penner in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, and 50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly winning him a Gold Medal for Male highest points. Lily Poffenroth in the 200m Medley, and the 100m and 50m Freestyle. Malcolm Cameron in the 200m Breaststroke….Lily MacLean in the 100m Breaststroke.
Matthew Penner placed 2nd in the 200m Breaststroke and 3rd in the 50m Freestyle.
Lily Poffenroth placed 2nd in the 100m and 200m Backstroke while winning a Silver for Female Highest points earned.
The women’s 13-14 Relay team placed 2nd in the 400m Freestyle.
The women’s 15 and over relay team placed 2nd in 200m Freestyle and 3rd in 400m Freestyle.
Mariah Austen placed 2nd in the 200m Backstroke, 3rd in both the 200m Medley and the 50m Backstroke and 4th in the 100m Backstroke.
Hannah Austen placed 3rd in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, and in the 200m Medley as well as 5th in the 200m Freestyle,
Emma Crispo placed 3rd in the 50m Breaststroke and 5th in the 100m and 200m.
Zack Elsworth placed 3rd in the 100m Breaststroke, and 4th in the 100m Freestyle and 8th in the 50m Freestyle.
Meghan Hayes placed 3rd in the 100m Butterfly and 7th in the 50m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle.
Colleen MacLeod placed 3rd in the 100m Freestyle…5th in the 50m…6th in the 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke and 7th in the 100m Breaststroke
The mixed relay placed 3rd in the 200. I.M. Relay and 5th in the 400m Freestyle.
Lily MacLean placed 4th in the 50m Freestyle and 5th in the 200m.
Baileigh Bekkers placed 6th in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke
PHAST will see action in Pictou on February 23 in the Nova Tech competition, followed by the AAA squad competing on March 1 at the David Fry Senior Championships in Halifax
