The Halifax Mooseheads open the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final on the road when they visit Beaver Meadow’s Ryan MacLellan and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for game one.
The Mooseheads (49-15-4) ended the regular season third in the 18-team league with 102 points, and were eighth in the final CHL top 10 rankings of the season.
The Huskies (59-8-1), who swept the two-game season series between the teams, finished first with 119 points, and were the top-ranked team in the country.
Halifax needed seven games to eliminate Quebec in the first round, swept Moncton in their second series, then defeated Drummondville in six games in the third round; Rouyn-Noranda eliminated Shawinigan in six games in their opening series, then swept Victoriaville and Rimouski in the following rounds.
Game time is 8 p.m.
The series will stay in Rouyn-Noranda for game two Friday night; it shifts to Halifax for games three and four Monday and Tuesday.
