Man questioned in We’koqma’q murder banned from community

Band officials in We’koqma’q have banned a former partner of a murdered mother of infant twins from their community.

Cassidy Jean Bernard, 22, was found dead in October; her two children were in the home at the time, but were not harmed.

Police questioned Austin Isadore of Wagmatcook, Bernard’s ex-partner, in relation to the death; he was released without charges.

We’koqma’q band officials issued a notice to say Isadore is banned from the community Monday.

They say RCMP are aware; no reason was provided for the ban.

Band officials previously offered a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
