McCarron says warden’s tour is going well

Antigonish Co.‘s warden says his warden’s tour gives him the opportunity to visit the entire municipality.

Owen McCarron says he’s had four meetings so far, and two more are coming up; the next one is in Pomquet Feb. 28.

After February’s regular municipal council meeting Tuesday night, McCarron said they’ve gone well so far.

“We’re getting great turnouts at each of the communities, and lots of good discussion,” he said. “It’s an opportunity for me to connect with people throughout the area, but also let people know some of the things that are happening within the county.”

McCarron said the councillor for the area and some municipal officials attend each meeting.

He said one of the biggest issues they’ve been hearing from residents is road conditions, and they’ll bring those concerns back to their provincial counterparts.
