Messy weather on the way

Hopefully you didn’t get too used to the recent spring-like weather.

Forecasters with Environment Canada say we’re in for a messy mix of snow, ice pellets, rain and wind Thursday night.

They say we’re expecting 5-10 centimetres of snow mixed with ice pellets then rain overnight; as much as 15 centimetres of snow- along with blowing snow- is in the forecast for Richmond Co. and southern Inverness Co.

No actual warnings have been issued for the Quad Counties, with the exception of a wind warning for Guysborough Co. and Cape Breton; gusts are expected to reach 90 km/h, with gusts as high as 170 km/h in the Highlands.

There is a winter storm warning in place for Cape Breton, except for Inverness Co. and Richmond Co.
