Four candidates have come forward to run for a vacant council seat in the Municipality of the District of Guysborough.
Blair George, the former municipal councillor for District 4, died in an ATV crash in Halfway Cove in January; he represented the district since 1988.
A byelection will be held April 13; the deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers to run was 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Four names will be on the ballot- Jenny MacDonald, Tino Winter, Elaine Durling and David Hanhams.
Two days of advance voting will take place April 4 and April 9.
