Mulgrave snow removal budget mostly used

The mayor of Mulgrave says this winter has been hard on their snow removal budget.

At Monday’s regular council meeting, councillors received a complaint from a resident about the condition of her street after it had snowed.

Mayor Ralph Hadley committed to speak to public works to ensure the road was properly cleared.

Afterwards Hadley said snow removal has been very demanding this year

“We burnt up most of all our budget for the snow removal, we ran out of salt, so we had to order more,” he said. “We had a lot of snow. There are some streets that don’t get plowed right away, I understand that, they have to get all the main drags done first, all the main streets.”

Hadley said, despite that, they are working to ensure all roads are plowed in a timely manner after a snowfall.
