My Battle With the Yellow Jackets

My Battle With the Yellow Jackets

I was out doing yard work last night near my shed, minding my own business, when a swarm of yellow jackets suddenly came at me. Before I knew it, I’d been stung four times.

Apparently, I got a little too close to their nest without realizing it. Let me tell you, those little buggers don’t give much warning before launching an attack.

Now that I’ve identified where the nest is, the plan is to deal with it at dusk when yellow jackets are less active. Experts recommend wearing long sleeves, gloves, eye protection and using a wasp and hornet spray designed to reach the nest from a safe distance. After treatment, wait until there’s no activity before removing the nest.

Of course, after getting stung four times already, I’m also considering the highly effective strategy of moving and letting the yellow jackets have the property. Check out the video below!
