Federal funding announced for local projects.

Two communities in the Quad Counties are getting federal officials for new projects.

Provincial and federal government officials were in Guysborough to announce a partnership for a new compost facility for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough and wastewater infrastructure funding for the Town of Mulgrave Friday.

Ralph Hadley, the mayor of Mulgrave, says the total cost of their new wastewater treatment plant is about $7 million.

Hadley says town officials will provide 27 per cent of the total cost, provincial officials will cover 33 per cent, and federal officials will pay 40 per cent of the total cost.
