A man from Newfoundland charged in relation to a drug bust in Inverness Co. has had his charges dismissed.
RCMP say officers made a traffic stop on Hwy. 105 in Port Hastings in March 2017.
They say they seized 10 pounds of marijuana and 100 grams of shatter, a highly potent form of cannabis resin.
Police charged David Bruce Huxter, 59, of Little Bay and Carl Walter Jacobs, 65, of Deer Lake with a pair of charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking; they entered not guilty pleas in December.
Huxter and Jacobs were scheduled to stand trial in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday; instead, the Crown called no evidence against Jacobs, and his charges were dismissed.
Huxter made a charter application, and the judge reserved decision until Oct. 4.
