Christine ‘Queen’ Googoo

GOOGOO, Christine “Queen” – 73, Eskasoni / We’koqma’q First Nation, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Monday, April 27, 2026. Christine lived a simple and meaningful life. She loved watching sports, especially the Olympic’s and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nanora, Tillie, David, Debbie, Amanda, Milos, Molly and Bloge; chosen children, Chad, Cameron, Barbara, Ken John and Bobby and Katelyn; as well as her many grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Roderick Phillips; godchildren, Sebastian, Ozzy, Sylvia, Robert and Michael Jr. Christine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roderick; her sons, Chico, Clifford and Francis; her parents, Joseph and Mary Ellen (Nevin) Phillips; sisters, Caroline and Clare; brother, Richard; grandchildren, Jontay, Sophia, Chrisander and Caitlin.

Christine “Queen” Googoo will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for family and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.

Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 in the We’koqma’q Community Centre, 15 Reservation Rd., We’koqma’q. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 4 from Blessed St. Kateri Parish, We’koqma’q with Father Joby Augustin officiating. A joint burial service will folllow in the parish cemetery for Christine and her husband Roderick who passed away in February. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
