Susanna (Sue) Hajigeorgiou passed away on April 23, 2026, in Inverness, Nova Scotia. Born in Nicosia, Cyprus, she moved to Sydney, Nova Scotia with her family in 1975.

Predeceased by her father, George, her uncle, Andrew and aunt, Bepa. She is survived by her mother, Androulla; her sister, Maria (Rob Mulvihill); her brothers, Costas and Photos; her aunt, Cleri and uncle Michael; and her aunt Kula. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces,nephews and cousins.

Sue lived for nearly 40 years at L’Arche Cape Breton, where she was a beloved member of the community. A vibrant soul who lived life out loud, Sue was always dressed to impress, often adorned with dangling earrings and a hat that added to her charm. She greeted others with a beaming smile and open arms, making everyone feel truly seen and loved. Her sparkling eyes, playful gestures, and infectious laugh could light up any room. She had a special way of connecting with others and brought joy to those around her. Sue cherished her relationships, loved babies and children, and savoured every bite of good food. Her dolls and stuffed animals brought her comfort and were always close by. Her strength and spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those at L’Arche Cape Breton who cared for and supported Sue over the years, surrounding her with compassion, dignity and a sense of home, especially when family lived far away. We also thank the doctors and nurses at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Dr. Rhea MacDonald, whose kindness and empathy meant so much.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Vineyard House (L’Arche Cape Breton, 1399 Orangedale, NS) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, at L’Arche Cape Breton Founding Chapel (3 L’Arche Lane, Iron Mines, NS) at 10 a.m. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
