LANDRY, Theresa Mary 98, South River Bourgeois passed away Saturday 11 July 2026 with family by her side.
She was born in River Bourgeois on February 8, 1928 to the late Joseph P. and Clara (Landry) Burke.
Since February 16, 2018, she was a resident at the Richmond Villa. She faithfully kept in contact with relatives far and near, saved scrapbooks, gathered old photos and they were a great enjoyment for family and friends who came to visit. Her hooked rugs and crazy quilts, are cherished family possessions and Miraculous Medals we find in our luggage are reminders of her strong faith. In her later years she and granddaughter Laurie and brothers Roderick and Ernest were regular cribbage competitors.
Theresa, Mom, Nanan, you were a devoted caregiver wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and Aunt. You taught us to be strong and giving by your example. May your guardian angel take care of you now.
We are your three sons, Daniel (Anne) of River Bourgeois, Vincent (Frances) Dartmouth, Leonard (Heather) Bedford; two daughters, Anne, Halifax and Rose (Bob) Kelly, Florida; 12 grandchildren, Genny (Jason) Ramsay, Janice (Mike) Pelly, Maura (Chad) Meyers, Alicia, Kevin (Lauren), James (Julia), Evan (Rachel) Landry, Emma (Alex) Dunphy, Brad (Jen) Kelly and Elise (Andrew) Van Alstine; 13 great grandchildren, Abigail (Kyle) and Amelia Pelly, Kyle Zinck, Lydia Ramsay, Hudson and Salem Kelly, Glen and Dylan Meyers, Dominykas and Alyvia Landry, Ryan and George VanAlstine, Otilia Landry. Also survived by Paul Zinck (Norma Jean).
She is also survived by her brother Richard (Lisa) of Petawawa, Ontario and sisters Mary Burke of Halifax, Emily (Fred) Harding, Ottawa; sisters-in-law, Helen Stone, Ottawa, Lorraine Miles, Hamilton; brother-in-law, Earl (Louise) Landry, Halifax, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband Leo; brothers Edward, Frederick, Anthony, Alex, Vitus, Raymond, Ernest, Roderick (Dickie), John; sisters, Anna Sampson, Margaret Smith, Irene McLaughlin; granddaughter, Laurie Zinck (Landry); grandson, Peter Landry as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at River Bourgeios funeral home on Tuesday, July 14th from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 15th at St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois at 11am with Rev. John Yake officiating. Burial in the St. John the Baptist parish cemetery. Reception will follow at the Tara Lynne Tousenard Community Centre in River Bourgeois.
Most appreciated are prayers for the repose of Theresa’s soul as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond Villa Resident Recreation or Staff Appreciation Funds. Special thanks to the management, staff and residents, her family at the Richmond Villa for their kind care, compassion and companionship.
