RCMP say a woman has drowned in Richmond Co.
They say the victim, 28, was at a cottage on Crooked Lake Rd. in Framboise when she went swimming and disappeared under the surface at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say a friend tried to help, but couldn’t get to her in time, and she didn’t come back up.
They say officers and volunteer firefighters weren’t able to retrieve the body, but members of the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team found it Tuesday morning.
Police say they haven’t made a determination regarding criminality; their investigation continues.
